Faith Family

  • To reconcile men to God and help them to attain their full potential in Christ.
  • To build a community of disciples that are bound together by covenant level love, who are to model to the church and to the world at large, the patterns of God for this present time.
  • To be a ministry that presents a real God, with real answers to real problems, of real people who are living in a real world.
  • To be a local assembly with a global impact, a church that is not contained within the limitations of man-made divisions and walls in the body of Christ.
  • To be a church that is devoid of labels e.g Charismatic, Pentecostal, Apostolic or Evangelical etc. The Capital Assembly is a church that believes in the progressive revelation of God’s purpose and plan.

We expect that each new member that connects with the training process of the church will experience a complete metamorphosis that will touch different aspects of their lives and be ready for basic leadership responsibilities in the kingdom. Give us one year of your life and you will never be the same again. We also expect that everyone will continue to experience growth in the different frontiers of their lives as they continue to advance in responsibilities in the kingdom of God. Six things form the foundation upon which this aspiration can stand. Capital Assembly is:

1. A Praying Church: Prayer is power. It is the sustaining force behind all spiritual activities.

2. A Worshiping Church: If we learn to worship God collectively and individually (in private) we will walk in the favour of God. Worship is the reason for our existence and it is the heart of God’s desire concerning us. A worshiping person will walk in favour with God.

3. A Studying Church: This doesn’t mean a well taught church (having fantastic teachers) but a church where people are directed and motivated to study for themselves. When a church begins to study, even the teaching office finds greater liberty of operation.

4. An Evangelizing Church: Evangelism, to a church, is like breathing to a body. A church on fire will spread the life/love of God to the world around it. Evangelism must be collective and also personal. It must therefore be taught, encouraged and induced.

5. A Disciple Making Church: Disciple Making, to a church, is like breast milk to a child. A new convert is like a new born baby. A church must teach and encourage its members to collectively and personally make disciples. We have put in place a system that will ensure that all members of the Capital Assembly are making disciples.

6. A systematically structured church: We will not be a personality driven church but one that will run on systems and structure. These systems and structures will be magnified, honoured and enforced by all members of the church. The systems will be continually upgraded as the spirit directs.

In other to fulfil this responsibility, weekly activities, special seminars and training programmes will also be designed to spur the members in these areas rather than just occupy, entertain or accommodate them. Special evangelism days will be organized. Evangelism must be taught.

FROM THE DESK OF THE BISHOP

The faith family is very critical to what God is doing and what he is unfolding in TCA. God is a God of strategy. There is nothing that God does without purpose, and purpose implies forethought and foreknowledge, God will deliver to you the plan. There is a method released from heaven for us. The plan and strategy for each church is what makes each church distinct and it is what makes each church relevant. There is no victory that the Lord will give you that will not have a strategy.

God is also a God of unity, not uniformity. There are no two churches with the same strategy. When the children of Israel were in the wilderness, there was a strategy for the wilderness. When they got into the promised land, there was a strategy for the promised land.

There is a strategy that God has ordained for this church. That is why at the core of the existence and plan for this church is the Faith Family (Cell or Care Unit). The Faith Family is the centre and the core for discipling.

If you establish a factory and stock it with everything except the machinery to manufacture the products, you have not done well. It is in line with this principle that God has established The Faith Family in The Capital Assembly. It is through the machinery of the Faith Family that disciples are spiritually “manufactured” and disciples are the finished products of God’s factory.

We are not only a spiritual hospital nor are we just a social gathering of believers. Though all these are part of the package, what is at the center of God’s heart is disciple making. If we are a factory producing disciples, then the machinery particularly involved in producing disciples is the core of all the programs and activities of the church. This machinery is THE FAITH FAMILY (Cell Unit)

By implication you are not really a member of TCA until you are a member of a faith family. Because that is the most important aspect of all the programs of the church. This is church. The Bible says “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house…” Acts 2:46
