Topic: : Understanding Your Seasons
Nothing on earth ever remains the same and because there is change, we will go through different seasons in our lives.
It is important that we understand the seasons of our lives if we are to run the race that is set before us with patience.
In Genesis 8:22, we are told that as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will never cease. Using Israel as a backdrop, the Israelite farmer understands that the early rains usher in the planting season while the latter rains usher in the season of harvest.
His understanding of the seasons will enable him apply wisdom and this will keep him patient with the process. The farmer will not struggle for a harvest if he realizes that it is a time of planting and neither will he exert effort to plant in the time of harvest.
So it is also in our lives. For example, in this season where there is a lockdown, God might be leading you to develop your online skills. This points to a time of sowing. However, if you are being led to harness more profit from an already established online business then you are most likely in a season of harvest.
Knowing the difference will save you some heart ache and empower you to go through the process with patience. May you be able to discern the seasons of your life.
If you’re having a hard time figuring out what season you are in and you need someone to listen to you, I will be honoured to. I’m just a click away.
Genesis 8:22 “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” – (NKJV)
Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” – (NKJV)
Dear Lord, thank you for being with me in the different seasons of my life. I ask that you help me discern the seasons so that I might patiently run the race that is set before me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
