Devotional
Why has God commanded us to give thanks in the midst of dark trials? Let me share with you my friend’s story.
My friend woke up one morning to the sound of her daughter’s cry, she was screaming “Mummy I am not feeling well”.
My friend rushed her daughter to the hospital. They ran some tests and the doctor said they did not know what was wrong but that it was obvious that her daughter was fighting an infection.
So, my friend went home to get her daughter food. When she got home, she had a deep urge to praise God. She complied and praised God crazily.
She got back to the hospital, only to be told by the the lab technicians that they were sorry and that there was a problem in the laboratory that day and all the results were inaccurate.
They carried out another test and confirmed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her daughter.
Give thanks in the midst of that pressure!
Scriptures
Lamentation 3:22-23&25: “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him” -(NKJV)
Prayer
Lord, I thank You in all things and for all things. In every situation I find myself, I give You thanks because I know that it will turn out for my good, in Jesus matchless name I pray, amen!
